Business Systems Specialist

We’re currently seeking an experienced Business Systems Specialist to join our Technology Services team and play a key role in driving system, process and service improvements across the organisation.

About the role

In this hands-on role, you’ll provide day-to-day support for business applications, partner with stakeholders to translate needs into system solutions, and contribute to testing, implementation and continuous improvement. You’ll also produce clear documentation and help maintain strong governance, security and data integrity across our systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for enterprise business systems and applications, ensuring timely, high-quality service delivery.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and align technology solutions to business objectives.
  • Configure, develop or tailor system components and digital workflows to meet organisational needs.
  • Plan and execute system testing, including test scripts and validation, to ensure reliable performance after changes.
  • Support implementations, integrations and deployments, ensuring smooth transition into business-as-usual.
  • Produce and maintain documentation such as functional specifications, reports, work instructions and asset registers.
  • Work with external vendors/service providers to manage integrations, resolve issues and support solution delivery.
  • Troubleshoot issues and help maintain system security, accuracy and data integrity.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, governance frameworks and compliance with policies, controls and procedures.
  • Share knowledge, support team capability and contribute to the IT strategy and roadmap as required.

About you

You’re an analytical and collaborative Business Systems Manager who enjoys working with diverse stakeholders and turning complexity into clarity. You’re confident influencing outcomes and passionate about improving systems and processes that support meaningful services.

You’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business or a related field (highly desirable).
  • Significant experience working at a senior/technical specialist level in an organisation of similar size and complexity.
  • Experience implementing and supporting enterprise-grade business systems (health, aged care or disability sector experience is desirable).
  • Strong understanding of cyber and information security governance frameworks and technology controls.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-support skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and build strong relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solution-focused, self-motivated and able to prioritise competing work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate (issued within the last 12 months).
