Our 1000 sqm commercial kitchen combines top-of-the-range equipment with a fully trained team of catering professionals to produce over 600,000 meals per year.

We currently have an opportunity for a Chef to join our commercial catering team based in Malaga. This is a permanent full time opportunity working Monday to Friday with start times anywhere from 0500 to 0800.

About the role:

The role of the Chef is to be accountable for the daily operations of the Brightwater Catering Service. This includes working with the team to deliver high quality, nutritional and special requirement meals for clients in line with standard recipes and guidelines set out by the Brightwater Catering Management team.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Trade Certification and a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (desirable).
• Significant experience in a large food production facility/commercial kitchen or processing environment.
• Previous experience working in healthcare, aged care or hotel/restaurant industry.
• Food Safety Certification (preferred) and excellent working knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety guidelines and OSH standards.
• Demonstrated experience of catering for special diets and diet requirements including supplements, texture modified soft and pureed foods.
• Proven knowledge and competence in stock control including purchasing, delivery and storage of food.
• Previous experience with staff supervision and workload management.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a wide range of people.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise and coordinate work schedules to meet changing requirements, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and meet deadlines.
• Possess a current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence and satisfactory National Certificate (obtained within the last 12 months).
