HR Business Partner

Step into a true partnering role — shape strategy, lift capability, and drive standout people outcomes.

At Brightwater, our purpose is to support people to live with dignity and independence — and our people make that possible. As HR Business Partner, you’ll work with senior leaders to translate priorities into sharp, practical people strategies that improve performance, engagement and retention.

The Opportunity

As Human Resources Business Partner, you’ll sit alongside leaders and key stakeholders to turn organisational priorities into a proactive people plan — building capability, strengthening engagement and lifting performance. You’ll be the go-to advisor for managers on policy, employee relations and workforce matters, bringing sound judgement, clear advice and a strong risk lens. You’ll also help drive consistent, best-practice application of Brightwater’s frameworks to improve key HR metrics and support a positive workplace culture.

You’ll have the autonomy to lead, with the backing of a high-performing People & Culture team.

What You’ll Do

  • Coach leaders through the full employee lifecycle, ensuring legal compliance and confident agreement interpretation.
  • Build credibility fast and influence stakeholders to land clear, consistent people decisions.
  • Bring contemporary HR thinking (including AI’s opportunities and limits) to lift decision quality and ways of working.
  • Lift leadership capability through coaching, feedback and targeted development.
  • Partner with community and health services leaders to align workforce plans with service delivery.
  • Strengthen reward and recognition so great work is seen, valued and repeated.
  • Lead performance and ER matters end-to-end, bringing calm, structured case strategy.
  • Build talent pipelines and lift engagement through smart, targeted initiatives.
  • Shape learning solutions that build capability and support leaders to deliver results.
  • Use workforce insights to influence planning, priorities and people strategy.
  • Drive projects and change that stick — improving ways of working and employee experience.
  • Use Excel and workforce data to spot trends, tell the story and trigger action.

About You

You’re an experienced HR professional ready for your next step — commercially minded, confident in all aspects of the employee life cycle, and known for getting traction with leaders. You balance people, risk and operations, and you turn ambiguity into clear, practical action.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in HR/IR, Management or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated HRBP experience in complex, multi-site or operational environments
  • Strong working knowledge of contemporary HR practice, industrial instruments and employment contracts
  • Confidence in ER/IR risk management, case strategy and stakeholder management
  • Experience interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements (negotiation experience highly regarded)
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
  • Strong analytical capability — able to turn data into clear, actionable insights
  • Experience facilitating workshops and building leader capability
  • High discretion, sound judgement and emotional intelligence
  • Collaborative, adaptable and outcomes-focused
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Current WA Driver’s Licence and a recent National Police Certificate

Experience in aged care, disability or health is advantageous, but not essential.

In return, you’ll join a values-led organisation with a strong package, including:

  • The ability to salary package $18,550 each year
  • Our unique staff benefits program, including access to BrightwaterPlus which gives discounts to over 370 retailers
  • Access to corporate health insurance discounts
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Free access to Brightwater’s in-house gym and free parking
  • On-site café
