We are seeking a Community Support Worker with significant experience, living in the Joondalup, Currambine, Connelly, Tapping and Kinross areas and willing to provide personal care services throughout the Perth metropolitan area in our pool position.

Our pool positions are a little different to that of a mainstream Community Support Worker position – such as:

  • Set days and hours – Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 8am to 1pm
  • Cover sick calls – these may be allocated as early as 7am for an 8am start in the morning on the day of the service
  • Cover leave periods
  • If no services allocated, you may be required to assist the Team Leader with general administration duties
  • Willing to travel a distance to first client (we endeavour to avoid travel more than 30-45 minutes to first client but there may be requirement to occasionally do so if covering for sick or leave periods)

Essential availability:  Permanent Part Time (Contracted 30 hours per fortnight): Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 8am to 1pm

Travel: Although we endeavour to keep you as close to home as possible, you may must be willing to travel throughout the entire Perth metropolitan area if required with your own vehicle

Essential: The ability to be flexible on a daily basis with an ever-changing roster and travel requirement

Brightwater can offer you:

  • Travel within the community and receive an allowance of $0.99 cents per km
  • Mobile phone for work purposes
  • The ability to salary package up to $18,550 tax free per annum-meaning you can legitimately pay less tax and increase your take-home pay
  • Access to BrightwaterPlus – providing discounts at over 370 retailers including health insurance providers.
  • Access to a large network of gyms, fitness studios and pool facilities through MyFitnessPassport.
  • Flexible working arrangements, promoting a healthy work life balance.
  • 24/7 expert medical and mental health support for you and your family through our Employee Assistance Program.
  • Access to Brightwater’s Employee Referral Scheme.

About the role:

You will be visiting our elderly clients in their own private homes, assisting them to live independently in the community by supporting them with day-to-day tasks, social access and sometimes just keeping them company. Each day is different with different needs and some of the duties include:

  • Delivering quality care and support by ensuring the holistic needs of our clients are met in accordance with their Care Plan and care package
  • Personal care including showering, dressing and continence care
  • Facilitating community access opportunities for our clients
  • Providing cleaning, laundry and meal preparation services
  • Completing documentation and reports

About you and what you will need:

  • You are comfortable working on your own, and more importantly, care about our clients as much as we do
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • An empathetic and considerate nature and a client-focused approach
  • The ability to problem-solve and work flexibly without direct supervision
  • Certificate III in Aged Care
  • A First Aid Certificate (less than 3 years old) + CPR if more than 12 months old
  • A current valid driver’s licence to drive in Western Australia, as defined by the WA Department of Transport.
  • A reliable, insured car
