We are seeking an experienced and passionate Food Service Dietitian to join our Allied Health team. In this role, you’ll work closely with clinical, hospitality and operations teams to ensure our clients receive safe, nutritious, culturally appropriate and enjoyable meals, aligned with best-practice nutrition and food service standards.

 

About this role

As our Food Service Dietitian, you will provide expert dietetic input across Brightwater services, supporting both clinical nutrition outcomes and food service excellence. You’ll contribute to menu development, quality improvement, staff education and risk management, helping to deliver consistent, high-quality food services across multiple sites across our various services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, review and enhance menus and recipes to meet nutritional, cultural, texture-modified, food safety and therapeutic diet requirements
  • Support food service and clinical teams to understand client nutrition needs, diet restrictions and care plans
  • Monitor and evaluate food service quality, outcomes and cost-effectiveness, providing recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with Hospitality Services, Allied Health, Nursing and site teams to deliver safe, nutritious food services
  • Lead and support training initiatives for food service and care staff
  • Develop and review nutrition-related policies, guidelines and quality systems
  • Conduct regular food service and menu assessments across Brightwater sites
  • Support continuous improvement, risk management and accreditation requirements

 

About You

The successful candidate will bring strong food service expertise and a collaborative approach working with within a diverse team of clinicians and operations professionals within a complex service environment.

 

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Dietetics
  • Accreditation as a Practising Dietitian (APD) with Dietitians Australia
  • Experience in food service dietetics, aged care, disability or healthcare environments
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition standards, menu planning, special diets and food service systems
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (Aged Care, NDIS, Food Safety, HACCP, OSH)
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • Current WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across services
  • Valid NDIS Workers Screening Check 
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate (within 12 months)
