The Position:

We are seeking a highly experienced leader for our Residential Aged Care (RAC) services across our ten residential care sites and transitional care sites in the Perth metropolitan area.

The Operations Manager leads a portfolio of Service Managers and their sites to ensure quality care services, uphold client and staff wellbeing, and optimize business performance through the Aged Care Funding Instrument AN-ACC.

This is a permanent full-time leadership role, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required.

The Responsibilities:

The Operations Manager role at Brightwater is a dynamic leadership position with a strong focus on strategic planning, team development, financial performance, and quality care. Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the Residential Aged Care (RAC) team, ensuring Service Managers are engaged and aligned with Brightwater’s Strategic Plan.
  • Empowering Service Managers through mentoring, performance reviews, and skill development.
  • Fostering a respectful, person-centred, and customer-focused culture, ensuring client and family interactions are handled with care.
  • Ensuring accreditation and regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards across RAC services.
  • Optimizing financial performance, working with the Finance team to ensure compliance with funding streams like AN-ACC.
  • Driving strategic and operational planning, acting as a change agent to implement and embed improvements.

 Skills and Experience:

The Operations Manager position requires a strong mix of leadership, strategic planning, financial management, and aged care expertise. To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a Health or Community Service, or substantial leadership experience in the sector.
  • A deep understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards and federal and state reforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate with stakeholders, and a proactive approach to quality management and continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and customer focus skills.
  • Experience managing a residential aged care site.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, a Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s. Licence, and a satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.
  • An AHPRA registration (desirable but not essential).
