We are currently seeking a passionate Senior Occupational Therapist to join our residential aged care team on a fulltime 12-month fixed-term opportunity to provide a consultative service to Brightwater Birralee, our Residential Transitional Care Program site based in Innaloo.

 

Brightwater Birralee is a suburban home offering a unique split for a group of 30 permanent residents and 30 Transition care clients. 

 

As an Senior Occupational Therapist, you will assess the client, determine individual capabilities, and set realistic goals, facilitating the achievement of these goals while optimising the client’s functional performance relation to activities of daily living, wellbeing, leisure pursuits and vocation/education, within a residential or rehabilitation setting or in the community.

 

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team the Occupational Therapist (OT) provides quality, appropriate and relevant OT services to meet the needs of Brightwater Care Group’s clients.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Strong commitment to providing, and the capability to deliver, safe high-quality care.
  • Demonstrated experience and competency as an OT to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments with a diverse range of people.
  • Strong person-centred skills in communicating and engaging with clients with high support needs including cognitive impairment, brain injury, and dementia.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation; Aged Care Act (1997); and/or Disability Services Commission Standards (1988).
  • First Aid Certificate less than 3 years old (desirable; essential if providing services for Brightwater At Home clients).
  • Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
  • A safe, registered, and suitably insured motor vehicle able to be used for work purposes.
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.
  • Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.
  • Satisfactory NDIS Workers Screening Check
