This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Therapy Assistant to join our dedicated Madeley team on a Casual basis. We also welcome applications and interest from New Grads who are looking to further their career path.

This role focuses on creating meaningful experiences, ensuring each day is the best it can be for our clients by promoting engagement, connection, and well-being.

Whilst working as a Therapy Assistant you will be an important part of the multi-disciplinary team and provide assistance in all aspects of day-to-day care and individualised therapy, lifestyle and leisure programs.

The successful candidate will be working at our Madeley site; a 110-bed facility with dementia specific care and non-dementia specific care. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months experience working as a Therapy Assistant, specifically supporting individuals with dementia.

To be suitable for this role, you must possess:

  • Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or progress towards)
  • Experience working as a Therapy Assistant and with dementia specific care
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • A positive, proactive and client focused approach
  • A satisfactory National Police Clearance that is less than one year old
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Western Australian Driver’s licence

Responsibilities include:

  • Provision of goal directed therapy programs in accordance with Care Plan in group or individual settings
  • Provision of recreational based activities to meet social and emotional needs
  • Contribute to the development of innovative therapy programs to improve wellbeing
  • Support volunteers to enhance the site therapy program
  • Contribute to site reporting, accreditation standards and legislative compliance by completing all documentation and reporting incidents
