We are currently seeking applications for a Clinical Mental Health Nurse to join our rehabilitation team for people aged 18 – 64 years with an acquired brain injury (ABI) on permanent part-time basis working 30 hours per fortnight.  There is flexibility around workdays however working every Tuesday is essential.

This role will form part of a multi-disciplinary team providing quality care, support and assistance to clients of Brightwater. Specifically, the Clinical Mental Health Nurse will provide quality care, support and assistance to clients in accordance with individualised care/ support plans which promote independence and quality of life in a safe home-like environment. This position specifically promotes the provision of therapeutic interventions and treatment to support the mental health of clients.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified and suitably registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Nurse.
  • Current credentialed Mental Health Nurse status with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN)
  • Demonstrated experience in mental health assessment (MSE) and provision of therapeutic interventions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as risk assessment; cognitive behavioural therapy; acceptance and commitment therapy.
  • Knowledge of the Australian healthcare system and community supports relevant to mental health.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments and the ability to inclusively communicate with a diverse range of people.
  • Competency in clinical and data management systems and the ability to understand new systems.
  • Proven customer-focused work ethic, strong commitment to Brightwater’s Mission, and values alignment with Brightwater’s values.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and use resources effectively, safely and efficiently.
  • First Aid Certificate less than 3 years old.
  • Current WA Driver’s Licence.
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
