The Dietitian’s role is to support the clients and the associated clinical teams in Brightwater’s residential and disability care sites to ensure the dietetic needs of clients are identified and managed in line with best practice guidelines and Brightwater policies and procedures.
 
We are offering a part time contract working 60 hours per fortnight. Some flexibility for preferred days and times. We are also open to offering full time work opportunities.
 
In this position you will work within our team of dietitians responding to organisational referrals, undertaking assessments as clinically required and providing nutritional strategies to best meet the individual needs of our clients. You will work closely with the allied health and clinical teams at our residential sites and liaise closely with our clients and their representatives on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications.

Key Duties/Accountabilities
  • Client-Centred Practice: Ensure care aligns with clients’ personal values, Brightwater Care Group policies, ethical codes, legislation, and professional standards.
  • Nutritional Assessment and Care Planning: Collaborate with clinical teams and healthcare professionals to assess nutritional needs, develop and implement dietary care plans, and provide counselling.
  • Communication and Education: Effectively communicate with clients, staff, and representatives regarding dietary goals, mealtime management, and care strategies. Provide training and nutritional education.
  • Program and Policy Development: Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of food service policies and nutritional programs, ensuring documentation meets required standards.
  • Quality Improvement and Support: Monitor nutrition outcomes, contribute to a supportive environment, and engage in continuous quality improvement processes across care and training programs.
The ideal candidate will have the Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience detailed below: 
  • Possess a tertiary qualification in Dietetics.
  • Qualified and registered as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).
  • Strong commitment to providing safe high-quality care.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments with a diverse range of people.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency in best practice principles, methods, and procedures in dietetics with previous skills and experience as a Dietitian in various environments.
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation; and where relevant, the Aged Care Act (1997); and/or Disability Services Commission Standards (1988).
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and meet deadlines.
  • Possess a current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.
